About the charity
Dentaid works tirelessly to increase access to life-changing dental care for the most underserved communities including people experiencing homelessness, victims of domestic abuse, refugees and asylum seekers and children in areas of high social deprivation.
What our grant will help to fund
This grant will enable Dentaid to equip its fifth mobile dental unit, which we will use to deliver outreach dental care for homeless and vulnerable groups. It will pay for x-ray, IT and dental equipment that is essential for the safe, effective delivery of patient care. This equipment will be used by Dentaid volunteers to perform oral cancer and diagnostic screening, x-rays prior to emergency treatment and restorative and preventative dental care.
Our new mobile dental will enable us to meet some of the growing demand for our charitable dental services. Every month we receive requests from organisations that support people experiencing homelessness and other underserved communities who urgently need dental care. We will now be able to help more of these groups by alleviating dental pain and helping them feel more confident in their smiles, which can improve their life chances and future prospects.
