About the charity
Greener and Cleaner works to normalise a greener, cleaner, more sustainable way of life for people in South East London and beyond, providing education about the benefits of the personal day-to-day measures you can take to reduce the carbon footprint of your household and your local communities, while improving wellbeing and cost of living.
What our grant will help to fund
Our goal is simple. To help ordinary people work towards creating a greener and more sustainable local community in an inclusive and accessible way. We share information and resources to reduce our carbon footprint and environmental impact at home, at work and in our wider communities. We focus on inspiring and helping people find what works on a day-to-day basis for them, while highlighting the co-benefits for health, connectedness and cost of living. We’ll put this grant towards being able to deliver additional carbon literacy sessions for the community, undertake more talks in schools and develop our new creative workshops for eco anxiety. This enables us to continue to reach new people in South East London.
This donation also enables us to carry out ground-breaking research to increase diversity and inclusion in sustainable living communications and practical support at a local and national level. As well as producing a Blueprint that can be rolled out nationally, based on the research and testing from our community support Hub Pilot: our community-powered, no-judgement space where everyone can seek advice and encouragement, participate in workshops, learn skills, collaborate and more. Bringing together diverse sections of our communities it’s a busy and thriving place.
