About the Charity
Overgate Hospice provides specialist palliative care and support to the people of Calderdale who have an active, progressive, life-limiting illness and their families.
What our donation will help fund
As Calderdale’s only hospice, serving a population of 210,000 people, our current facilities are no longer fit for purpose. We have exciting new plans to improve facilities to give patients the very best environment. Our current Inpatient Unit only has 12 beds with the majority of these being in shared rooms. Bathroom facilities are cramped and limited, with no ensuite facilities, impacting the privacy and dignity patients deserve.
We have developed a plan to build a new state-of-the-art Inpatient unit. The new Hospice will be equipped with 16 private, en-suite bedrooms that have enough space for families to spend time together, sleeping over if they choose in a home-from-home environment.
Your support will help us to redevelop our hospice, ensuring we can continue to provide quality palliative care to those in our community who need it the most.
