The Association of Charitable Organisations (ACO) is the membership body for grant-making and benevolent charities that provide financial and well-being support to individuals.
What our grant will help to fund
Caseworkers/grant teams play a crucial role in the effective operation of ACO charities – their input is critical in understanding and assessing the needs of applicants and building secure and professional relationships with them.
Given the wide-ranging scenarios they are frequently faced with, an understanding is required into a diverse range of issues ranging from mental health, addictions and safeguarding to housing provision, benefits eligibility and debt management. However, current training resources are often generic and not tailored to the specific environment in which they work.
Responding to this, the Movement for Good grant will enable ACO to develop, co-produce and deliver a customised training programme platform that will engage with charity case work professionals, deepening key competences and widening insights into issues critical to effective communication with their clients and beneficiaries.
Launching this training initiative will bring significant value to an extensive range of grant-making/benevolent charities, upskilling their case work teams and extending their ability to provide frontline support to the often challenging needs of their audience.
