About the charity
Action Tutoring is a national education charity supporting pupils facing disadvantage to unlock their academic potential by providing high-quality English and maths tuition through the power of brilliant volunteer tutors.
What our donation will help fund
The generous £1,000 donation will make a truly positive difference to our charity and pupils. At Action Tutoring, we believe pupils from low-income backgrounds are not less able but lack access to resources to help them achieve academic success.
Our tutoring helps build young people’s confidence and resilience alongside helping them to succeed in SATs and GCSEs. We wouldn’t be able to run our tutoring service without the aid of vital resources such as noise-cancelling headphones for online sessions, high-quality workbooks for pupils receiving in-person tutoring, and enhanced DBS checks for our volunteer tutors. This donation could provide 40 pairs of headphones, 166 pupil workbooks, or 100 DBS checks for tutors, allowing us to unlock the academic potential of pupils facing disadvantage.
