About the charity
Eden Christian Trust (ECT) is a small, ecumenical charity offering activities/events for young people aged 10-18 years old in the Edenbridge, Kent area.
What our donation will help fund
The donation will go towards the general running costs of ECT including funding for our full-time Youth Worker who, together with 24 volunteers, runs youth clubs, a mentoring project, summer camps and works in local Primary Schools, churches and the community.
ECT offers a welcoming, compassionate and inclusive environment where young people can meet their friends whilst having the opportunity to take part in challenging, fun activities that develop their personal/interpersonal skills, gain confidence and self -esteem. With no Secondary School in the town, the young people go to many different schools throughout the borough and have difficulty making friends locally and feeling they belong.
We are addressing this need for a safe place for young people to come together with activities that promote community cohesion, social inclusion and interaction amongst the young people. The donation will enable us to continue and expand our services to our young people.
