About the Charity
Enterprise East Group CIC are helping people to tackle social isolation and employment barriers in our community.
What our donation will help fund
EEG run inclusion, employability, and skills training programmes in Uttlesford and surrounding areas. We take a non-discriminatory approach, helping anyone on the margins of society, including people with learning, sensory, and physical disabilities; poor mental health; ex-offenders; and long-term unemployment. We operate a community cafe “Cafe Cornell” as a work-based training academy, delivering creative and needs-led training alongside an accredited ASDAN employability qualification.
Our social inclusion programmes aim to bring people together and build a stronger, more cohesive community. These include free social meals for those in situations of loneliness or hardship, weekly “Meet-up Monday” sessions, and a community choir.
With this generous donation, we will be able to kickstart our new Memory Lane Dementia Cafe project, starting soon at Cafe Cornell! This will create a safe and welcoming space and support group for people with memory problems and their carer’s and loved ones. We will use these funds to buy specialist equipment and resources, as well as contributing towards overheads and general running costs, allowing us to make this project free to all.
