About the Charity
Our mission statement is to protect and save lives at sea in Bigbury Bay and the surrounding coastline.
What our donation will help fund
As an independent lifeboat we are totally funded by charitable giving. We do not receive government grants. Each year we need to replace kit as the sea water perishes the dry suits. These are essential to the warmth and welfare of our crew. In addition to this we are currently trying to provide all the crew with ‘Woolly Bear Suits’. These are suits that go under the dry suits for the winter conditions. The crew can be out at sea for many hours when they are searching for missing persons. The weather is not always kind and it can be really cold and rough out there!
