What our donation will help fund
In today’s fast-paced world, preparing for the future requires planning and preparation. Learning for Life (LfL) is dedicated to empowering young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) over the age of 16, with the tools and insights needed to not just survive but thrive in the challenges that lie ahead.
The funds received from Movement for Good will enable the hiring of a Work Experience Co-Ordinator at LfL. This role will focus on securing work experience opportunities for learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Facilitating work experience is a complex task, as many employers are not aware of the advantages of employing individuals with additional needs. They may not realise the positive impact it can have on their business, and the individuals.
If learners with SEND have a defined role in the community, it fosters confidence in their ability to make a meaningful contribution to society. The aim is to cultivate an environment where individuals with SEND are not only valued, but receive the necessary support and empowerment to pursue their career aspirations. LfL promotes an inclusive society where everyone, regardless of their abilities, can feel included, supported, and driven to achieve their professional goals.
“We are overwhelmed and full of gratitude for the funds received from Movement for Good. We know this will have a massive impact on the work we do, it really is life changing.”
Marie Matthewson, Principal and Head of Services, Learning for Life
