Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund supports families affected by childhood cancer from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond.
What our donation will help fund
The £5,000 donation will fund respite holidays for five families whose child has been diagnosed with cancer. Along with the break, they receive vouchers for local day trips and spending money to help ease some of their financial strain resulting from their child’s diagnosis.
Often, families dealing with cancer lack the energy to plan a holiday or deal with the implications if the trip must be cancelled due to a decrease in the child’s health. However, based on our 30 years of experience, we know that giving families time away from hospitals and treatment is critical. Making it quick and easy to make a reservation, as well as removing all stress and worry if they need to cancel last minute, ensures that the procedure is worry-free and that they get the much-needed time away.
It has a significant impact on their mental health and helps to re-establish and strengthen ties among family members. It gives them the opportunity to relax, recharge their batteries, and reconnect as a family while making treasured memories that will last a lifetime.
