About the charity
Our vision is to create a world where everyone is valued equally, listened to and included in everyday life. Together we want to create inclusive, accessible, welcoming spaces and opportunities for people with a learning disability to thrive.
What our donation will help fund
With this £1,000 we will use some of the money to celebrate 60 years of our Thursday Club. Thursday Club was started by a group of parents of children with a learning disability creating their own network of support. Thursday Club has seen some of its members attend since the late 70s and the age range of people who attend today is from 26-74.
It is a safe space where members meet up with friends and each week. As well as seeing each other, we enable our members to experience different things – marble art, Zumba, forest school, accessible bikes, drumming workshops we will use the money to pay facilitators to deliver some of these sessions.
