About the Charity
Sticky Fingers Arts is a children charity established to provide children and young people from one of the most deprived areas within the UK, with an accessible arts and creative play program. The organisation is dedicated to creating and providing world class experiences for children and young people and their grown-ups.
What our donation will help fund
This much needed funding will ensure that Sticky Fingers Arts can continue to develop specialist programs for children and young people often excluded due to disability, disadvantage, or cultural barriers at our magical and enchanted Imaginarium Centre, the first dedicated arts and creative play space for children and young people within Northern Ireland.
The funding will ensure that the Imaginarium Centre can continue to provide magical play experiences, stories, art, theatre, and music to children of all abilities, providing essential creative learning programs and continue to offer the community a safe and welcoming space for play. Each year Sticky Fingers Arts provide over 20,000 children with access to arts and creative play, providing many children from the Newry and Mourne area with their first and only opportunity to experience the arts and theatre.
Through the Imaginarium Centre, we provide both children and young people will complex needs with accessible sensory programs to support them to learn, play and connect with the world around them. Our early years programs provide babies and children with key essential experiences that will encourage their learning development and ensure that each child has the opportunity thrive. Open to the public six days per week, Sticky Fingers Arts provides activities for all ages and all abilities each day. A space for everyone and a space to play.
“We are absolutely delighted to have been nominated to win this funding, a much-needed cash boast during the most challenging time of year with more and more children visiting the Imaginarium Centre each week, with an overwhelming increase of children with additional needs requesting support. As the cost-of-living crisis continues, it is essential to remember that children need and have a right to a safe, happy childhood and the opportunity to thrive. Thanks to programs such as Moving on Good, we can continue to ensure that no child is left behind.”
