About the charity
The Lily Mae Foundation was set up in 2010 by Amy and Ryan Jackson in memory of their daughter Lily Mae. Despite the frequency of stillbirths, there is very little public perception of the devastating impact on parents, their families and friends. The Lily Mae Foundation supports parents and families affected by the death of a baby to stillbirth, neonatal death, miscarriage or medical termination and aims to be recognised as the main provider of bereavement support for families in the West Midlands.

Project overview
The Lily Mae Foundation’s unique one-to-one Baby Loss Support Service provides bereaved parents with an opportunity to explore their individual grief journey personally supported by Amy Jackson. Having lost Lily Mae to stillbirth, Amy can empathise and draw on her own experience of loss, underpinned by her Cruse bereavement support training. This combination of personal experience and the highest quality professional training means the service is highly sought after.
How the £50,000 grant will help
The £50,000 grant from Ecclesiastical will enable The Lily Mae Foundation to take their Baby Loss Support Service to the next level – helping them to reach many more bereaved families that so desperately need their support. Having successfully secured a grant from MIND to cover Amy’s salary for the next 12 months, this grant means they can now recruit and train two bereaved parents to work alongside Amy, enabling them to support an additional ten clients a week over the next three years.

Anyone can go and receive generic counselling but the one big difference between that service and us is that we can guarantee the support we offer is delivered by someone who has experienced the same type of loss. We plan on using the money to bring in other bereavement support workers so we can offer more appointments for our service.”
