About the Charity
Young Climate Warriors supports schools and communities across the UK in advancing climate literacy and inspiring children to choose to take action for climate change.
What our grant will help to fund
The Benefact Group grant will enable Young Climate Warriors to expand our ‘Climate Change Club in a Box’ resources, creating new ‘ready-to-roll’ Eco-Club ‘starter packs’ for schools, empowering teachers and inspiring children.
The new resources will be designed taking into account feedback and requests from our panel of teachers, consulted in Summer 2024. The grant will also enable us to recruit more Ambassadors to deliver more in-person, discussion-based ‘climate change assemblies’ in schools across the UK. Our assemblies shared by the ‘youth of today’ inspiring the ‘youth of tomorrow’, offer an opportunity to ‘kickstart’ or ‘rekindle’ school-wide climate change conversations, enhancing climate literacy, and facilitating discussion of choices and options for planet-positive daily living.
Our resources are designed to highlight positive action already being undertaken, and to encourage a ‘stubborn optimistic’ outlook; helping to counter eco-anxiety and inspire vision and hope. By the end of our scaling-up initiative, we will have established our services as a key go-to climate-education resource for UK schools. Over the last 4 years we have inspired thousands of children across hundreds of schools to engage and take action to help our planet. We aim to do the same for children and schools at a nationwide scale.
“Young Climate Warriors is extremely grateful for the opportunities afforded by this Benefact grant to reach and inspire 1,000’s more children across the UK; helping them learn, understand and feel empowered to reflect, discuss and choose their own informed path of action in response to our climate crisis.”
