What our grant will help to fund

‘Rejuvenate’ is breaking new ground in exploring the ability of archaeology and heritage activities to promote the wellbeing of young people who are facing challenges, including those who are disengaged with formal education and at risk from the influence of crime and anti-social behaviour.

From archaeological digs and using flint tools, to building prehistoric structures and learning how to survive outdoors, young people step into inspiring historic places to benefit their physical and mental wellbeing, boost their confidence and sense of self, and help to change the course of their lives. Through different projects, groups of young people are learning how to bond and relate with others in special activities guided by archaeologists and environmental specialists.

“Rejuvenate is a ground-breaking project helping young people who face difficult life challenges, are disengaged with school or at risk from the influences of crime and anti-social behaviour. Working from inspiring historic places, the project is using archaeological and creative outdoor activities to offer new perspectives, moments of reflection and connection with others through sharing unique experiences and trying new skills. New funding through this Movement for Good Award is incredibly welcome and will help us to make a powerful difference to more vulnerable young people.”
