Animal and wildlife charities receive £50,000 worth of donations

10 charities from the animal and wildlife sector have received a funding boost of £5,000 through the Benefact Group Movement for Good Awards Special Draw in October.

Donations were awarded to a range of animal welfare organisations, including Cheshire’s The Fox Rescuers, Lincolnshire’s Immingham Dogs Home, and Greater Manchester-based Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary and Carrington Animal Rescue. Other recipients included Kent’s Dunrunnin Hounds, the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, and Devon’s Elm Wildlife (Every Life Matters Wildlife).

Additionally, the £5,000 donation was sent to to Angus-based Ballumbie Hedgehog Rescue, Lancashire’s The British Thoroughbred Retraining Centre, and Staffordshire Wildlife Trust Limited.

The Benefact Group Movement for Good Awards, which have been running for eight years, are giving away more than £1 million to charities in 2026. In fact, the Group has recently celebrated reaching the landmark amount of £250 million given in donations since 2014.

More charities will be selected for support in December, and animal lovers are encouraged to keep nominating by visiting https://movementforgood.com/.

Mark Hews, Group Chief Executive of Benefact Group, says: “Our Movement for Good Awards help to support many charities, including those within the animals and wildlife sectors. Benefact Group is the third largest corporate donor to charity in the UK, so we know that £5,000 can make a genuine difference to those who are successful in our draws.* Owned by a charity ourselves, giving is at the core of everything we do within our family of award-winning financial services companies. We give all available profits to good causes, which means that the Group grows, the more we can give.

“We are delighted to be able to donate over £1million to good causes each year through our Movement for Good Awards and are grateful to all our supporters, including the customers of the trusted insurer, Ecclesiastical, and the responsible and sustainable asset manager, EdenTree.”

Benefact Group Movement for Good is funded by EIO plc, part of the Benefact Group.
