Benefact Group and parkrun UK come together to support charities and communities
Benefact Group, the international financial services group owned by a charity, has announced a new Corporate Giver relationship with parkrun UK.
As a business that gives all available profits to charity, Benefact Group has donated more than £250 million to charities and good causes since 2014, supporting more than 10,000 charities.
The new collaboration with parkrun UK brings together two organisations committed to making a positive difference in communities. Over an initial 12-month period, the organisations will work together to support charities, encourage volunteering and help strengthen local communities across the UK.
As part of the joint initiative, parkrunners will be invited to nominate charities they care about through a dedicated Benefact Group Movement for Good draw, helping direct funding to causes making a difference across the UK.
Founded in 2004, parkrun has grown into one of the world’s largest community participation movements, providing free weekly events that are open to everyone. In the UK, the community includes millions of people, thousands of whom volunteer to support local events every week.
Paul Lynes, Group Development & Communications Director at Benefact Group, said:” As a business owned by a charity, supporting good causes is at the heart of everything we do. Since 2014, we’ve donated more than £250 million to charities and good causes and supported over 10,000 charities.”
“parkrun has built an extraordinary movement that brings people together through volunteering, connection and community spirit, making this a natural fit for Benefact Group. Through Benefact Group Movement for Good, we’ve seen the impact that collective action can have in supporting charities and strengthening communities, and we’re excited to bring those two movements together.”
Elizabeth Duggan, Global CEO, parkrun said: “parkrun exists to bring people together and make communities healthier, happier and more connected. We’re delighted to be working with Benefact Group, whose long-standing commitment to supporting charities and good causes aligns closely with our own values.
“Through this collaboration, we’ll create new opportunities for parkrunners to support causes they care about while celebrating the volunteers and communities that make parkrun possible.”
